Dan Istrate

is originally from Romania, where he performed in some of the most notable theaters in the country, including the National Theatre in Bucharest, the Jewish Theatre, and the "Radu Stanca" Theatre in Sibiu, 

in addition to appearing in several television shows and films. 

Dan graduated from the renowned University of Theater and Film in Bucharest, where he subsequently became a professor. 

Thereafter, Dan moved to Richmond VA where he joined the adjunct faculty in the Theater Department at Virginia Commonwealth University.  

In his time in the US, Dan has earned numerous film and TV credits, including a recent guest star on Great News on NBC, Start Up on Crackle TV, and Alias on ABC; 

lead roles in The Conspiracist, Terror Force, Dinner With The Alchemist, directed by Kevin Good, and Her Tango, directed by Jason Mullis, as well as a supporting role in Michael Merino’s Drakul.

Dan's list of theater credits is impressive: 

Shakespeare Theatre Company (DC), Arena Stage (DC), Studio Theatre (DC), Theatre J (DC), The Players Theater (NY), and he has been a company member of Synetic Theatre (VA) for ten years. ​

He has also performed internationally in Bucharest (Romania), Tbilisi (Georgia), Izmir (Turkey), Bratislava (Slovakia), Paris (France) and Seoul (South Korea).
